Default Vote For Your Favourite Play School Presenter

Mine was Derek Griffiths, he has a wonderful comic face, a very talented man.

I was nvever fussy on Brian Cant I know he is highly regarded by many.

Also recall, Rick Jones, Miranda Connell, Johnny Silvo who is also a folk singer, Lionel Morton who sang with the Four Pennies pop group.

Cant comment too much about Floella Benjamin I was all grown up by the time she came along, I am sure though that she is an iconic figure to many as well.

I remember seeing a clip of Johnny Ball entertaining an adult audience on a programme in the early seventies and getting a real buzz from the fact that he could entertain children and adults.

I remember seeing a very funny clip of Floella Benjamin doing a very bouncy "up and down" song.... er how shall I put it... she needed some extra support!

Not sure about children's presenters but I will vote for Louis Jameson any day The best and most vivacious Doctor Who assistant. She used to war those very tight scanti-pants during the late 1970s - early 1980s. Don't know how many kids watched it then but most of the dads I am sure. We used to call her 'Legs Jameson'

Play School was always a favourite amongst us students at the time.
They started by telling you what day it was - a thing we weren't always aware of
There was the high drama of which window we would go through for the story.
And there was Toni Arthur to lust after, she was always my favourite

From that point of view, Floella Benjamin was, and remains, gorgeous...

Not sure what became of Mick Robertson of Magpie, the last time I saw him was twenty odd years ago at the very dawn of Sky tv he used to link the childrens show,

I once saw him play cricket for the Lord Taverners in a chairty match in the grounds of the Hoover Factory Merthyr Tydfil.

We were promised Nicholas Parsons but the team were decidedly d list apart from Tim Rice , reminds me of the Porridge film when Slade Prison played against a celeb team, all they got was a weather forecaster from Anglia tv.

Not, I presume, the wonderfully named Mike Hunt!

I was trying to remember the surname of an Australian presentor I've got it now his name was Don Spencer he sang the end theme to Fireball XL5.

I have heard a rumour that Big Ted and Hamble are still in showbiz, they have been spotted flogging dodgy watches on Price Drop TV

Now better known for forays into other controversial areas of UK television, one of the more popular presenters for "our" Play School was your own Trisha Goddard.

Repeats of her period as a presenter are still shown in Australia.
