Who can recall this great series starring, Michael Palin, Terry Jones and Eric Idle, pre Python and also featuring Denise Coffey and young David Jason as Captain Fantastic. Bonzo Dog Band were regulars also.
It was on during childrens hour but it wasnt meant for the kids, grown ups would allegedly rush home from work to watch this show. Surviving episodes are on DVD, havent got it yet, anything with a Python connection is always worth having, with the exception of a couple of dud films that Eric Idle was involved in. Members who recall David Frosts famous interview with Emile Savundra the con artist on Frost On Sunday on ITV may be interested to know that Eric Idle can be seen clearly in the audience. This was because he was involvied on the Frost programme as writer. |

Sorry folks you will have to look at the wiklepedia, I only knew he was an insurance swindler, I dont recall seeing this edition as a child, I saw it on archive series introduced by Frank Muir some years ago, called TV Heavean.
I do remember seeing an edition of Frost in 1969 where the cast of "Much Binding In the Marsh." were reunited, it may have been after Kenneth Horne died, Richard Murdoch was on and Sam Costa too. " "Much Binding In the Marsh meant nothing to me as it was before my time but I was very familiar with Sam Costa who was a disc jockey on Radio two and prior to that the light programme. I enjoyed the Frost weekend shows as it was more or less my first encounter with the Two Ronnies and there were some good skeches. |
