has anyone seen this on saturday nights ? i couldnt help thinking whilst watching it that if it was on itv with someone like denise van outen in the lead role ,there would be an outcry and accusations of it being little more than pornography ! maybe that wouldnt be such a bad thing for the producers as ive never heard anyone else mention the show ,do they get an audience ? does anyone like it ?

I like it but I think the last couple of episodes were a bit of a mess. It seems to have lost focus since it started - but I still prefer Tamsin Greig to Denise Van Outen any day.
As for being pornographic, haven't you noticed that it's okay to talk about sex in graphic detail - and even to show it on screen occasionally - in most sitcoms these days, it's the non-pc subjects (racism, religion, disability etc) that are the new taboos. Kind of a reverse of the 70's ethos. |

the couple that ive seen in the new series have had me confused .the boyfiend with the glasses is some sort of scriptwriter and one of his sketches that hes working on will suddenly come to life ,usually involving bare bottoms or pixelated naughty bits .problem is theyre out of context with the rest of the show ? when i suggested denise as another lead i was just illustrating that if the tone was lowered slightly ,jazz music jettisoned etc it could be seen as almost pornographic .mind you the two other girls the lead female works with on the makeup counter are just as coarse as denise could be ! .basically the whole show doesnt seem to know what it wants to be .
