Thumbs down Victor Meldrew

One Foot In the Grave is may all time favourite sit-com, I am surpirsed it doesnt appear all that regrularly in polls of peoples favourite comedies.

I am not really like Victor but I have had quite a few Victor style rants in my time, .

So many favourite moments but withoud doubt my fave is when the refuse man saw the snake go up the stairs and thought Victor was a snake enhusias.
Great cast every character a gem.

Shame David Renwick killed him off I could understand his reasons for doing it but I dont like that last episode with the Travelling Wilburys song at the end, nothing wrong with the song though.

Yes, the ending was rather unbelievable...

oh I love Hannah Gordon, not seen her for a while on tv, she always reminded me of the actress Colette O Neil, , dont know why, I liked her playing, Rabbie Burns wife in the tv series from many years ago, with John Cairney, oh I fell in love with him playing Rabbie.

Donna, you are right dont see her on the telly these days. I remember that show about watercolour paintings that she introduced on Channel Four.

The first thing I remember seeing her in was,"MY Wife Next Door."

I was fortunate to see her in a play in the West End some years ago with her ex co star from Telfords Change Peter Barkworth. Now there's a name indeibly associated with 70s telly.

PB was excellent in a 1966 episode of Public Eye that I watched the other day.

my favourite memory is when victor and mrs worbouys get their feet stuck in the same bag of cement Coincidentally, the only time i ever found bobby davro funny was when he would say "i dont belive it!"

The only time I ever laughed at Roy Hudd was when he was on One Foot inthe Grave as the gentleman who had a case of shall we say,"loose bowels."

The episode with Margaret and Mrs Worbuys with their feet in cement is another of my favourite thats the one with the old folks being ill treated in the care home.

Also love the end of the traffic jam episode when Victor plays a cassette of Eric Idle singing,"Victor Meldrew, Victor Meldrew , he can stick it up his bum------.

I can't remember which one exactly but it was hilarious - Victor got locked in a room and really really needed to go to the loo. It might've been cheap comedy but his rantings were gold!

Never got into it myself, yet can understand why it was appealing.
