Default What Vintage Us Sitcoms Would You Like To See Back On Screen

"Car 54 Where Are you." is top of my list of us sitcoms that should be shown again in the U.K. Not seen over here since Channel Four revivied it in 1983.

Quality comedy of the highest order from the creator of Bilko.

"My Three Sons." is another show I would like to see,not in the same league as "Car 54" but this is one of many shows that are not available to uk tv.

Another great favourite not seen in the uk since the seventies (unless Sky showed it in its early days) was F Troop.

None. Apart from maybe MASH or Cheers, but I tend not to laugh at American sitcoms, I dont think they are funny.

But it ended superbly with the "baby on the bus" double episode.
That was a wonderfully written, and played, gradual reveal

Living in NYC I don't know what you're served in Blighty, but "The Honeymooners" and "I Love Lucy" are the King and Queen of American TV comedy, truly beyond compare (sorry MASH fans).

Ummm ...... aahhh ...... ummmm ...... hmmmmm ..... errrrr ...... {cough} ...... {chirrup}{chirrup} ..... hmmmmm ......

(Having said that - or rather not said that - I s'pose I should own up to possessing M*A*S*H Series 4 - 10, boxed sets of McHales Navy Series 1 & 2, and copies of Series 2 - 6 of Hogans Heroes ......)

This is war Wilson, not Sainsburys!

Interesting thought - although I found the earlier episodes a bit silly and slapstick (Series 1-2, and possibly 3), then they headed towards developing an underlying social commentary about war, relationships, etc

This is war Wilson, not Sainsburys!

I would LOVE to see "The Honeymooners" again. It was an absolute riot!

The problem with the old comedy shows that do get re-run (in Australia), the idiots in control, whoever they are, add canned laughter! I couldn't watch the last re-runs of M.A.S.H. or Frazier because of that. There should be a law against canned laughter - it absolutely ruins any show, old or new. Even the British comedy shows are contaminated with it. Ptomaine poisoning, I call it.
