A double much thanks MarkyB,

Iplayer cater for BBC 4 so hopefully it will be available there. Also while looking up iplayer I noticed they are showing the current Transatlantic Sessions series which was on BBC 2 some years ago. Good folk music played live.

Included is an interview with Ursula Vaughn Williams,his widow who died last year aged 96. She was forty years his junior.

The London Symphony is one of his finest works. It has so much subtlety - each time I listen to it I find new things I hadn't noticed before, especially the First Movement. Not sure if it's a blessing or a curse (the former I think) but after I have heard it I find snatches of the music going round my in head for days!

The only thing is.... it doesn't sound like London to me! But it's still wonderful timeless music. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

It doesn't sound like the London I know - but then again,I have only been there in a capacity of tourist,so I would leave that opinion to the Londoners.

I imagine the programme will also include a contribution from his orchestrator Roy Douglas, who is now aged 100.
