Default BBC Childrens drama series 1960s/70s

Hi Everyone

I have been racking my brains for years to remember a BBC drama series from either the late 60s or early 70s which I used to watch. All I can remember is that it was about a family, and they were probably Australian, they had quite a number of children and I remember one of them on a tree swing in Victorian/ Edwardian clothes, with a large hat and there was an accident in which this girls was paralised... any help!!!!!

Did it feature Charles Tingwell?

Why not visit the Festive Fayre section?

Seven Little Australians. I don't want to upset you too much but the girl was more than just paralysed at the end though.

Lucky for me that I did ..... that still doesn't make it OK to give away the endings of programmes without a thought for those who haven't seen it.

As you said yourself about using the 'spoiler device' .....

"No need for any suppression of free speech but very useful when discussion a film or tv programme that not everyone will have had a chance to see yet."

.... what's good for the goose etc.

If I had seriously believed that revealing that an un-named character dies during the course of a tv series would impair people's enjoyment of said series, then I would have used the spoiler function. But I don't believe that so I didn't. However if I am wrong then I look forward to a much greater enforcement of spoilers throughout the boards .

It's easy to go overboard on this idea of spoilers. Most posters and trailers give away far more about the plot than has ever been revealed here. Add to that the plethora of reviews and comments about films nowadays and it's actually very hard to go and see a film where you don't already have a fair idea of what's going to happen.

But does that spoil your enjoyment of the film? It shouldn't. It doesn't for me.

Why shouldn't it? Just because it doesn't bother you it doesn't mean that it shouldn't bother others. It bothers me when I am totally unaware of any elements of a story and someone gives away a key plot point of that story. Of course some stories are known in advance, but it is also nice to come to a new story afresh and with no prior knowledge. I don't think it is asking too much for people to be a bit more careful.

I believe you to be wrong .... and I too hope the use of spoilers will be used more frequently.
