I only saw the final show of the show, and yes while he was good,I think the young 14 year old singer (girl) should have been the winner. However, having not seen the entire series and not voted,I shouldn't really comment.
The two dancers, the Muslim and Sikh, were very funny and should enjoy a career in the future as not only exceptional dancers, but as comedians as well. On a serious note,it is nice that Muslims and Sikhs can work together, produce intended laughs, give entertainment and do more for racial tolerance than a thousand words.

Bats: have you ever read the short horror story 'Whats on at the Roxy'? It is fabulous. Published during the 1970s (I have the draft and could e-mail it to you)

My original posting was to criticise our wise public re the apparent trend (to me!) of voting for the wrong act/person. I was trying to be humourous!
But, seriously, the acts that I have described worked there socks off and were far better in many ways than the so called, over fed, self gratulating egotistical morons that frequent this countries 'star/celebrity/ culture.
(There, I have it of of my chest!)

But that's why they're doing it, so that they can join the gravy train of over fed, self gratulating (?) egotistical morons that frequent this countries 'star/celebrity/ culture.

Steve
That is true in many cases Steve but I could post the same comment and it is cynical.
The truth is not quite so. Most of the 'wonabees' are pretty basic types it is the corruption of showbiz that creates the monsters that feed of off it. The public do not want this society do they (do we?)

We do need talent searches to find good future talent and I can not disagree with that. But what do we find in television promoted by tabloid journalism. 'In your face'
'brash' 'unpleasant' output. What can these young people do but go along with it - with the stream of the water flow.
Jessie was a good example, she is from the west of Ireland a very simple and pleasant person but what does she encounter. A group of people saying one thing and expecting another 'we want you to stay just Jessie' then: 'you must come out and bash it too us. The result was overacting and over singing.

All of television is now the same - dignity and pleasantness is replaced by a moronic brashness. The message seems to be 'yes we see what you do now perform as we tell you to!

'You should be kind to us normals, there are not many of us left you know'!

I suspect talented actors from days gone by are either rolling in thier graves or are in disgust as to what is happening on our t.v screens with reality tv in this modern age.

I also feel sorry for talented actors today who also love good drama but can`t get a look in for these unbelievably low life programmes and `celebs` as they call them selves as they appear mostly naked, swearing and have tramatic affairs with the opposite sex which end in tears, then we find out it be could that the affairs have all been a publicity stunt anyway!

As a struggling script writer, I see this as a waste of tv viewing time for people who are genuinely into the arts and wish to pursue a career.

I don`t see it as a culture thing, or a historical thing for British television, but a time when people are attention grabbing and see a way to become `Famous` without a scrap of talent and hard work!

xx

We`re changin` lodggggggggings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
