Well, may be but, I find it hard to believe that an assortment of individuals of any mentality you wish to apply to them can find so much to talk about without 'inspiration' and I also find it difficult to to appreciate how nonsense disputes blow-up out of all proportion. There is something unreal about it. I felt that the 'race' thing with Goody
was 'staged'

forgot to mention at the start of the thread ,as well as what idiot will win and how shrill will davinas voice get , at what point will hertfordshire police intervene ? will it be when a pig faced moron bullys other contestants with racist overtones ? will it be when a near riot kicks off when the producers have manipulated confrontation amongst contestants by allowing them to hear the others slagging them off behind their back ?which is what happened in bb 4 ...or 5 .....or 6 anyway what fun ! makes you proud to be british ! etc etc

I have never watched one minute of any of the BB's. But why do I get the distinct impression that I have? You can hardly pick up a newspaper, turn-on the radio or TV (any channel), surf the net, without it being mentioned in some form or other. It's seems we, the unsuspecting public, are being forced feed a diet of propaganda emanating from this appalling programme.

I would agree that the 'race" thing was staged in as far as all those trendy Endemolians and their Charlotte Street cohorts had spent hours discussing the implication of "contriving" a claustrophobic commune of such disparate stereotypes.
It's one of the many cynical aspects of the show.
But the twenty-four hour "dialogue" is every bit as gritty and human as any words uttered by the characters of Alan Sillitoe, John Osborne,Tony Warren,Jeremy Sandford et al.......AND, by it's very definition, infinitely more realistic !

Hello EHV......I don't know of your media-diet proclivities but, other than the one hour during which I contrive to visit the housemates, I never see or here it mentioned via MY papers/radio/TV.
Thank goodness....it would drive me nuts.

I visit a website where it's presented before me by people who despise and (understandably) extirpate the programme from their lives, yet still desire to engage in conversation about it and consequently fan the Toxic Flame of it's very existence with oxygen.

The blind guy from the East of Scotland met the gay guy from the West of Scotland and immediately opened a debate on the societal forces prising their nation apart. The matter was left pending after each agreed that mebbe neither west or east was necessarily all bad, leaving us the faint hope that there is yet hope for the unity of the nation...........
