Default Loose Women

do these "ladies" annoy you, they do me, their being paid to sit talking rubbish about their sex lives, if they have one, men, and what they get up to, who thought up this programme.

Since beginning 'working from home' I have had to create a strict 'no daytime TV' policy or I find myself sucked in to a a deep spiral of morbidity and the thought of immediately going back out to work full time and putting my daughter into after school childcare (there lies hell and thinly sliced ham for tea..shivers..)

This programme, in particular, makes me want to go back to the job I described in 'worst job I have ever had' thread..

I agree , why - when some women get a platform - do they choose to drone about about trivialities, relationships and gynecological problems..dear god - I can say this with absolute certainty - nobody - nobody wants relationship advice from the nasty one from the Nolans. Nobody. Pay heed someone up top!

Basically, I don't like it either - but, if forced, I'd rather watch that than Jeremy Kyle.

Well, I remember hearing someone describe how they got the people on Jerry Springer to show up - pick them up from their houses (usually in the poorest areas) in a flash car, put them up in a grand hotel and convince them that airing their problems on national TV is going to improve things..

I find it tragic to watch..on the rare occasion I have watched these I have never seen anyone come out of it with any kind of solution..

I thought that 'The Jerry Springer Opera' made these points well too.

Very sad..

Off to pick up my daughter from school for a picnic in the park - no thinly sliced ham and 'everyone sit on the mat and watch 'Dumbo' (which is what the poor beggars at the after school club will be doing..so, perhaps, this is worth it..)

Sorry - gets off soapbox - it's Friday! Hooray...

You're right about the daytime TV sucking you in to the spiral of morbidity. It is one of the ways you have to discipline yourself if you work from home (like I do most of the time)

But as for the original subject, a friend of mine lives in the delightful village of Loose, in Kent. And yes, his wife is a member of the "Loose Women's Institute"

There is also a Loose Women Morris Dance Team. They were started in 1983 by an advert that said "Loose Women Required for A Respectable Pastime"

I don't mind this. I don't see it that often but at least it isn't another antiques/cooking show. At least it isn't another confession/share my chav lifestyle with the world show.

Just some reasonably intelligent ladies chatting in a mildly amusing manner. Radio for the eyes.

Quite old fashioned really.

All men leak.

This show is so patronising! Why do they think women with any form of intellegence want to hear about these women`s domestic lives when they are more things going on in the world which can be discussed with intellegence, concern and dignity!

To me, they aren`t doing a job! They sit there just discussing any old crap that comes into thier tiny minds. I dunno who is on it now but it used to be that Nolan woman, the one without any talent, and that batty woman off corronation street, I think she was called Maureen in it but can`t be sure! Anyway, her voice and everything about her gets on my wick!

If an intellegent woman who had anything decent to say was put amongst them they wouldn`t know how to deal with it!

xx

We`re changin` lodggggggggings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On the few occasions I've caught snippets of it the topic always seems to be the sex life of Chris Evan's ex - Carol thingymajig?
