Default Monocle wearers on TV

Lord Charles

Fred Emney

Ronnie Barker as Lord Rustless

Ian Carmichael as Bertie Wooster

The Monocled Mutineer

Why were monocles associated with the upper classes? - if anyone could afford a proper pair of glasses, surely it's them!

Sergeant Wilson (in Dad's Army) had a weakness in one eye, and tried to get away with wearing a monocle once... but captain Mainwaring was having none of it as I recall.

Ralph Richardson in the TV remake of Witness for the Prosecution.

Don't miss out on a chance to win a rare film in Bat-Quiz 13 closing date - 31/8/8.

I don't think it's a matter of cost. They only stay in place if you don't move much so they're best suited to people who don't do anything
