Put there before Crippen moved in. That's stretching coincidence somewhat. He mentions 'Planting' of evidence........................

.....You couldn't hear it, if they were shooting at me with howitzers!

The implication was surely that it was planted by the police during the investigation. As the programme pointed out, the "cellar' was actually on the same level as the living-area, and the remains stank. Crippen and Ethel, not to mention the dog, would hardly have remained oblivious.

It looks as if she had gone back to the US, after all. There were hints she may have been around until 1920, but she's a tricky woman to pin down, as she seems to have had so many name-changes, even before her alleged murder: her original name was something Polish and difficult to pronounce: Kunegunde –something.

I think that is stretching coincidence too far, as I mentioned before the remains were wrapped in Crippen's pyjamas that he ordered from Jones Bros in 1909, also a strand of bleached hair in a hinde curler was found.
Interesting side note: The first Mrs Crippen died in "mysterious circmstances" in Salt Lake City in 1892.

It's plausible that the police could have placed the pyjama jacket with the remains.................

Think they must have had strong stomachs, the body was wrapped in them. Also the remains had been boned and boiled, so we're still left wondering who and where ths poor soul came from if it wasn't Belle....
