Default Who's the best Dr Who assistant?

My tops would be

1. Elisabeth Sladen as Sarah-Jane Smith.
2. Lalla Ward as Romana
3. Katy Manning as Jo Grant

Oh, they are all girls from the 70s! Isn't that interesting?

Sarah Jane, no competition.

I do like Peri and Martha, but i suppose thats just because i really like the look of them rather than their compamion qualities

1. Caroline John as Liz Shaw. A shame she only did one series.

2. Katy Manning.

3. Elisabeth Sladen.

In order too!

You crazy idiots - my name's McGill!

Catherine Tate and Billie Piper have been my favourites.

I wonder who the next one will be? Who should it be, d'you think? I think it's about time they got politically correct and had a rather more curvy girl. Someone like Cheryl Fergison (Heather in Eastenders), although she's already played a small part in a couple of episodes, so they'd have to do another role reprisal.

I know they killed her off, but Lynda with a Y would have been a great companion.

#1 Louise Jameson as Leela
#2 Lalla Ward as Leela
#3 Janet Fielding as Tegan

Best boy: Mark Strickson as the shifty Turlough.

And the next companion? Surely Carey Mulligan as Sally Sparrow from the excellent Blink!

Yes, she was good. I'd forgotten about her.
