Default New hotel inspector

Hi.

Has anyone seen the new Hotel inspector?

I dont like her, she has as much personality as a wet fish . She is a relation of someone who started the trust house forte apparently.

Bring back Ruth I say!

xx

I watched one of these the other day and there was a woman having her swearing bleeped out throughout. That is a bit of a change from the original! It doesn't seem very professional.

I rather enjoyed the previous series with Ruth Watson at the helm but she is now concentrating on running her own hotel in Suffolk and is contacted to Channel 4

Alex Polizzi, niece of Sir Rocco Forte, doesn't seem to have Ruth's warmth and doesn't come over as caring very much about the owners.

Last night's foursome ( who had never run a business and with no experience in the hospitality trade ) decided to pool all they had and buy an Inn with expected results:-

Prolonged decision making ...... sometimes resulting in the toss of a coin
Far too much on the menu
Inability to manage cashflow etc etc

There's a place I stayed at in Northern Ireland last year that I'd love to nominate but how?

Agree though, this programme has slipped badly

Last night was the first viewing of any Hotel Inspector programmes for me. Thought Alex Polizzi hit the nail on the head about the problems the couples faced .
It can be difficult making entertaining viewing out of other peoples mistakes but I watched it to the end.
Will they do Hotel Inspector revisited?

Pitchfolk, yes the always do it revisited.

I remember Ruth used to swear but she could also be very funny. I feel this new inspector just likes to moan and throw her weight around, mind you I have only seen one in this new series, that was enough for me!

Thank you Faginsgirl, I worked in a largish Hotel many years ago and the Forte family were renowned for their "Portion Control" and list of known costings. I think that Ms Polizzi was just trying to illustrate that getting the basics right ie book keeping, cash flow are fundementals to any business and making small changes can reap larger benefits.
Will be interested to watch the rest of the series.
Forte Group fought a bitter battle against a Granada take over some years ago. The Forte brands largely vanished and some sold.Rocco Forte now has a chain of his own hotels.

Ms Polizzi also sports an illegal number plate on her car
