Frankie Boyle was effin'and blindin' on TV the other night at 9.15pm .... it's a long way from the furore about Dennis Potter's 'Fakir' joke!

Happy Birthday Daddy .... I love you!

I've sometimes wondered what is the correct pronounciation of the name 'Fakir'........Duke Fakir is the only original member of the Motown group The Four Tops who still tours, on Stage he said "and ole Duke is still hangin' around", so I was still none the wiser!

I stand to be corrected but I always have thought it to be ... fak-eer or fak-heer.

Happy Birthday Daddy .... I love you!

Default wardrobe malfunction update!

A federal court threw out the FCC fine against the television network that aired the super bowl and the Janet Jackson wardrobe malfunction a few years ago. Called the fine arbitrary and over-bearing.

"Family activists" (for goodness knows which families) are decrying the decision. Please. These are the same family activists who think breast feeding in public should be banned.

Anyway, that's the news from the heartland.

In the US isn't there a big difference between network and cable tv ? - the former being more puritanical about what can be shown.

I think some UK shows and films have only been screened on US cable TV.....and some of the most interesting US programmes that we see in the UK have only been on cable in the US......

Same sex kissing and other similar activities in early evening programmes. Call me a man from the past but it's not on.

What am I doing here Sgt? I should have been having lunch at the Saville!

Why not? It's legal and it doesn't frighten the horses.
