Do forum members remember some of the judges on this seventies talent show introduced by Derek Hobson. There were a couple of forthright judges who more or less fulfilled the same function as Simon Cowell, in the early days it was newspaper columist Clifford Davis and record producer Alan A Freeman one of these gents I think it was the latter made some critical comments to a contestant which resulted in them throwing a bowl of sugar in his face, which was cut from the recording.
Of course the real nasty one was Nina Myscow in the later shows and also Margrart Forward of The Sun. In the early years Noele Gordon, Danny La Rue, Mickie Most and Tony Hatch were regulars. I remember Noele Gordon being on the panel when Showaddywaddy first appeared. and I also recall Lenny Henry and Victoria Wood. |
