Default Relaxing TV / Films.

I put this in TV for my own relevance, but I wondered what other members watch when they've had enough of the modern world hurly burly and just want to relax a bit. Can be TV or a film.
My own is the DVDs available of Out of Town with Jack Hargreaves.
No egos or mouthys and best of all no Rock/ Pop background music. Just Old Jack and the sounds of nature in the background.
I just seem to drift away with him.

I know this would'nt cut it today.
God Bless Him.

Two tv shows I have on dvd come to mind, firstly the us comedy series,"Everybody Loves Raymond." Its a contempory show running in the us from 1996 to 2005 but I loves its potrayal of the nuclear family. It was never a trendy show and owed much to the classic comedy of many yesteryear but with a modern twist. My second choice is the first season of The Dick Van Dyke show, a well writtten show defintely ahead of its time.

The public have spent too many years knocking Dick Van Dyke for his cod british accent in Mary Poppins, yes it was awful but its overshadowed his bravura peformance on the Dick Van Dyke Show.

Gardener's World is usually a nice relaxing view. Watching someone else working is always good.

"The Andy Griffith Show"
"The Fugitive"
"The Twilight Zone"
"Alfred Hitchcock Presents/Hour"

All good old TV shows to chill out to.

Yep and Dick Van Dykes finest hour, Mary Tyler Moores was terrific too and a stellar supporting team Morey Amsterdam, Rose Marie and Richard Deacon.

Default I always liked

Barney Miller. My favorite episode is the one where the whole crew is unknowingly consuming the 'pot' brownies.
