I saw her about three weeks ago...singing and looking fantastic. Lovely lady, good to see her performing again after a couple of quiet years.....

I always find Oysterband a bit pretentious....but then I remember The Oyster Band, The Oyster Country Band (who were excellent), and before that, Fiddlers Dram.....for it is they. Not that they would admit to that, oh dear me no....

It seems he Is still performing and Is actually doing some dates this year
You're right about Jasper Carrott ,apparently Phil Is still friends with him and has actually done a tour with him In 2003

I May be getting older ,but I refuse to grow up

Thanks for that. The information I read must have been out of date.

I will confess to not really being a 'folkie', and most of my contact with the Oysters has been in a backstage/artist liaison capacity at the Big Session festival. I'm not really familiar with their history or their music. However, my experience of them as people rather than performers has always been positive. John and Ian, who tend to oversee most of the admin and management side, are lovely to work with and for, although they have no time for passengers.

Vikki is just lovely, period. The very first time I met her, she spoke to me as though she'd known me for years. She's one of the most gracious and generous-hearted individuals I know, and my bloke and I owe her an awful lot.

I remember Mike Harding's programme on the beeb. The one about the tortoise viking helmet, and also swearing at the family dinner table after his first day at the foundry, the turkey in the cinema, hilarious stuff.

I still like Jasper Carrot when he had his guitar, seventies early eighties, his live at hatfield video had me in stitches back then, still makes me chortle now.

Spot on, that's my experience with her too. She's also as daft as a brush, and has a fantastic talent for putting her foot in it....I could tell you some tales....but she's a darling, so I won't here.... and she has a hell of a voice, too.
