I think your over-reacting a bit here. Yes there was size jokes aimed at Hattie (come to think of it there were size jokes aimed at Tony too), but there were also jokes aimed at Bill and Sid.

++Hattie Jacques was a fine and successful comedy actress and a large and attractive woman. The part she played in HANCOCK'S HALF HOUR was Hancock's secretary, Grizelda Pugh who was fat, ugly, aggressive, incompetent and lazy. The fat jokes were at the expense of this character not at Hattie personally.++

I agree with this completely. Hattie was playing Ms Pugh not herself (why do you think she came back for Season Five if she hated the Season 4 scripts? Why do the tv show? Why come back for 'The Punch And Judy Man'?. No one forced her.)
