The following episodes of 'The Likely Lads' are missing

episode 5 of the 1st season - Chance of a lifetime

episodes 1 - 3, 5 & 6 of the 2nd season - Baby It's Cold Outside, A Star is Born, The Talk of the Town, Far-Away Places, Where Have All the Flowers Gone

episodes 1 & 2, 4 - 7 of the 3rd season - Outward Bound, Friend & Neighbours, Brief Encounter, The Razor's Edge, Anchors Aweigh, Love and Marriage

which means that there are just 8 episodes left

What a shame so many episide's of this classic comedy are missing.
Are they reshowing the b&w episodes of the LADS in the UK or just the follow up seies "Whatever Happened to THE LIKELY LAD'S"?
Neither has been shown on television over here for donkey's year's.
I remember back in 1992 while visiting Blighty i had the chance to purchase a video of the best of THE LIKELY LAD'S (B&W) in a store up Yorkshire way but like a fool i put the purchase off for another day....then never found it again. :unhappy:

Dave.

WHATEVER HAPPENED TO...???? is one of my favourite tv shows, but I must admit that when I got to see the original series via the '90's BBC2 repeats, I found it to be a bit of a disappointment...

Thanks Smudger
It's nice to know what you're actually getting to see over there on UK GOLD.
HANCOCK & THE LIKELY LAD'S in the same week - now that can't be bad :smiling:
Of course James Bolam progressed to be a very fine actor.

Cheers

I remember him playing a character called Wossname in an episode of "BUDGIE" 1972. He was having an affair with Budgies estranged wife Jean played by the alluring Georgina Hale. After over 30 years it sticks in my head as very funny.

Man of taste Hackett, giving words of praise for Georgina Hale :smiling:

Hold on...in another thread it was me & Sally Thomsett...

Thinks...seems to be a blonde hair and retrousse nose theme developing here !

As for James Bolam, he's been doing well of late in NEW TRICKS, and the BEIDERBECKES were an absolute must see !

Georgina Hale also had that wonderful voice.

And the Beiderbecke series, there's a lovely bit of writing and excellent performances from Bolam and from Barbara Flynn & all the others.

I also really liked Bolam in The Missing Postman (1997)

I thought James Bolam was great in that epic television series 'When The Boat Comes In'. That was the series that first surprised me to Bolam's serious acting skills.
Talking also of that fab Adam Faith series ' Budgie' can anyone tell me if the series was ever reshown in the UK? Havn't seen it in year's yet i remember it as a great series.
The same for that sixties television series 'Taxi' starring Sid James.Has that ever been reshown in the UK, or is it another on the long list of 'lost' shows?

Dave.

BUDGIE was repeated on CH4 some time ago (late 80s-early 90s ?) It's slated as one of NETWORK VIDEOS DVD releases out of their new deal with Granada Ventures too...

So which of the remaining ones is referred to in this ebay pirate as 'Christmas night with the stars'?

I can't find this referred to anywhere

Wish the Beeb would put the whole lot out on DVD though...
