Lightweight? It was fun, they had a few laughs, but some of it was quite meaty drama

There was indeed some very good drama in the series, but my over-riding memory is of the banter between the two of them. Perhaps lightweight wasn't the right word.

It was clever and it was fun and there was some great banter, especially between the two brothers and between Danny and the lady police officers.

And they had some great characters, Polish Joe, Jonjo, Ron (Ronnie) Blythe and the aforementioned lady police officers.

But there was some seriousness behind it like Danny's attempts to go straight and to support the local area and community at a time when Thatcherism was doing its best to destroy it and at the same time trying to deal with all the local villains and any imported ones trying to make their way in his territory.

Default Interview that talks about Don Henderson a bit

For any fans of Don Henderson, British actor Nicholas Bell, now working in Australia, reminisces with Paul Harris about Don in this podcast

RRR FM

Nicholas Bell's interview starts at 39 min is and they do talk about other British theater and film topics first. The stuff about Don H. isn't long but Nicholas Bell has a way with words when describing him.
