I think you are right, the actress I was thinking of was Diana Davies who played Norma Ford in Corrie, she did have a part in Emmerdale and was often seen on tv in the seventies she was in "Ready When You Are Mr Mcgill. Her cv on IMD makes no mention of Stepping Stones.

I once read a story about the early days of The Street, when a kind hearted viewer sent money to a character who had monetary troubles in the show. It was either Ena Sharples after she was caught shoplifting or maybe the Tanners when they were a bit brassic.

As a young lad I fancied a cheeky factory girl in the very early days of Corrie. I find out now that it was Hyacinth Bucket!!! :- ) Johnny

Did you ever see Patricia Routledege as a girl scout leader in the Jerry Lewis film,"Don't Raise The Bridge Lower The River.", filmed over here and co starring Terry Thomas and Jaqueline Pearce.

As you know Steve she is also blessed with a fine singing voice.
