This is a strange one but it's haunted me for years. I think it might have been for a drama or thriller series but I might be wrong and it must have been in the mid to late 70s.
It's an animated (or partially animated) sequence and we see a typical study room desk with a box on it. A hand reaches down and opens the box revealing a number of dark creatures inside with bright blinking eyes. Then the hand closes the box again.
To this day I have no idea what the title was or what it was about but I still remember those staring eyes of the 'things' in the box. Very vivid and very creepy! I'm sure it was a series because I remember seeing this opening more than once.
Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks Penfold but that's not the one. I remember Box of Delights very well but this was from a long time before that, very likely late 70s. Also Box of Delights was a teatime series whereas I remember this coming on quite late at night. Possibly it was for a supernatural or thriller drama?

Long shot (as I can remember the book, but not the actual show) Nigel Kneale's BEASTS - an old ATV show IIRC ?

I am trying to remember a title sequence. It was black and white, grainy and showed a guy being pursued by soldiers or similar. He is driving a Mercedes and gets his tires shot out and the car crashes, but we see him escape uninjured. I think it might be a cold war drama from the early 80's

Thanks for the suggestions folks. I managed to see Beasts this week and sorry it's not that either. I still think it might be from a mystery/supernatural series or maybe a black comedy or documentary series.

Not Harry's Game with the lovely Ray Lonnen?
