I think its good that they're catering for all tastes. If BBC4 was geared for ratings would we get any archive television or vintage films on there at all?

Nana Mousssaka was typical Sunday afternoon fare in my house. As a kid my parents must have had every recording & would later step up a gear & dig out the Demis Roussos & totally ruin my concentration & appreciation of Ann Aston in her mini dress.
The session would inevitably end with the soundtrack from Zorba the Greek being searched for again & never found

I never really understood the Greek fascination as we had only visited Corfu once.

Happy days.

Not as though you had to watch it, Julian, or is your tv jammed on to BBC4?

This should be in the 'British Television' section.......... I thought that was where I originally posted it, so don't know how it ended up here.......

Sorry folks, but I like Nana Mouskouri, even went to see her a few years ago, she was brilliant. I missed the shows on bbc4 though.

2 of them are circulating in the week and will probably turn up now and again for months and eventually on BBC2.

Advising people to switch off seems an odd suggestion.

Surely those who like her will tune in, whilst those that don't, will watch something else.

I think that she performed some great traditional songs with her band, the Athenians.

And after watching them last night in a studio setting - without an audience - wondered if that could happen these days?

Actually Demis Roussos is Nana Mouskouri...

Contact lenses, designer stubble, put on a few stone... Reinvent herself for a whole new sleazy audience! That did her until the eighties when she became Stavros on Saturday Live. Obvious, innit?

All men leak.
