Both the Times Online (http://www.timesonline.co.uk/printFr...795918,00.html) and Telegraph obituaries make reference to his work as a producer with Hazel Adair. Their company was called Pyramid Films. Meanwhile this site details the history of British sex comedies, including Walton and Adair's contributions to the subgenre: TV Cream's A-Z of films Cheers. The address of that Telegraph article: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml...8/28/db2802.xml Sorry. Iain |

....my favourite back in the 60's and early 70's was Scotland's George Kidd who, when the going got tough used to roll himself into a ball and none of the wrestlers could get him undone. He'd wait until his opponent turned his back and was having a whinge to the referee (yeah! referee!) and suddenly spring up and pull their legs from under them. Great stuff...great memories. I remember when C4 started in '82 they showed a very dramatic and unusual film about mental illness. It was called 'Walter' and featured Ian McKellen and Sarah Miles. In the latter part of the film Walter was sent off to a mental institution and some of the inmates were used as extras. One of them was the wrestler Johhny Czeslaw who, at the time, had recently had an operation on his head where they had removed a large proportion of bone and, I would presume, brain. With it being over twenty years ago I would have assumed that Johnny was no longer with us...but I'd be wrong. He was still attending reunions up to the August 2004 'TWELFTH ANNUAL BRITISH WRESTLERS' REUNION' http://www.wrestlingfurnace.com/fraternity...reunion2004.htm Well worth a visit. Another good one..for Kent Walton's Top 50 wrestlers The Wrestling Furnace Picture Gallery First pic Johnny in 'Walter' 1982 Second pic Johnny in 2004 |

What annoys me about the Indy is the unnanounced price hikes, not even a polite "sorry about the price rise, folks" announcement inside.... sometimes I get the urge to return to the Grauniad. |

One or two of the referees were characters in their own right; diminutive figures like Tiny Carr and Lou Marco often added to the fun by getting themselves trapped between or under a couple of heavyweights. There was a larger guy (Stan Stone?) who had been a wrestler in his younger days and periodically dealt with a gobby villain by picking him up and body-slamming him on to the canvas - great slapstick!
