He's not credited on the IMDb for either of those (you can add them to his filmography if you're sure). But it does credit him as an actor in Small Town Story (1953) and as producer of such gems as Virgin Witch (1972) with Anne & Vicki Michelle.

Kent died in August 2003.

HI there.

Both the Times Online (http://www.timesonline.co.uk/printFr...795918,00.html) and Telegraph obituaries make reference to his work as a producer with Hazel Adair. Their company was called Pyramid Films. Meanwhile this site details the history of British sex comedies, including Walton and Adair's contributions to the subgenre:

TV Cream's A-Z of films

Cheers.

Have a look at Sky channel 427 The Wrestling Channel. They are always showing these old World Of Sport matches. Good for a giggle.

One childhood TV routine was to watch the wrestling on ITV's World of Sport, and no matter which relative's house your parents dragged you round to on a Saturday tea time, they always seemed to have the wrestling on! An uncle even took me to see a live bout once, and top of the bill was the head butting Afro-Caribbean Johnny Kwango, and all these old women kept trying to bash him with their handbags and poke him with umbrellas.

Some of the big names I can remember were:

Mr TV Jackie Pallo (always wore stripy trunks, and I dread to think what the "TV" bit meant)

Mick McManus (looked like the grumpy scary bloke in the pub)

Billy Two Rivers (genuine North American Indian)

Adrian Street (pretty boy with long blonde hair). He used to team up with someone called, I think, Bobby Bennett and their tag team name was The Hell's Angels

Kendo Nagasaki (reputed to be on the run from the law so he always wore a mask)

Les Kellett (looked like a little old man)

Kung Fu (another mystery man in all the oriental clobber)

Big Daddy (he came a bit later when the matches got really silly)

Giant Haystacks (most failed trying to needle him)

Everyone reckoned it was all fixed but having seen it live I don't know. The rolls, forearm smashes, scissor presses etc were standard well practiced moves but I don't think the outcome was rigged, what would be the point?

I remember a documentary in the 1970s and wrestling commentator Kent Walton was featured. He ran a film company which made loads of soft porn features for the UK market.

One of his studio employees had the enviable task of feeling the naked breasts of girls signing up to appear in these films to make sure they were genuine flesh! I remember thinking at the time that if he ever got made redundant what the hell job could he possibly do after that eh? He'd never come close to anything like it in terms of job satisfaction! Perhaps he had to settle for a job in a bakery! Kneads must I suppose!

A neighbour of mine is a semi-retired gynachologist, he works a couple of days a week now just to keep his hand in!
you should be a script writer Sam.

Yes,,,I used to love the wrestling as a kid. I think it was shown on Wednesday nights too.

Dear Kent made a great job of pretending is was all real.

My faves were Les Kellet, Mick Mcmanus, and Mick's ape like tag partner Steve Logan who made

Mick Jagger look normal.

Good days,,,,,,,,thanks for reminding me.

Come to this thread late but...
....my favourite back in the 60's and early 70's was Scotland's George Kidd who, when the going got tough used to roll himself into a ball and none of the wrestlers could get him undone. He'd wait until his opponent turned his back and was having a whinge to the referee (yeah! referee!) and suddenly spring up and pull their legs from under them.

Great stuff...great memories.

I remember when C4 started in '82 they showed a very dramatic and unusual film about mental illness. It was called 'Walter' and featured Ian McKellen and Sarah Miles. In the latter part of the film Walter was sent off to a mental institution and some of the inmates were used as extras. One of them was the wrestler Johhny Czeslaw who, at the time, had recently had an operation on his head where they had removed a large proportion of bone and, I would presume, brain.
With it being over twenty years ago I would have assumed that Johnny was no longer with us...but I'd be wrong.
He was still attending reunions up to the August 2004 'TWELFTH ANNUAL BRITISH WRESTLERS' REUNION'
http://www.wrestlingfurnace.com/fraternity...reunion2004.htm
Well worth a visit.

Another good one..for Kent Walton's Top 50 wrestlers

*coughs loudly* don't forget me!

What annoys me about the Indy is the unnanounced price hikes, not even a polite "sorry about the price rise, folks" announcement inside....

sometimes I get the urge to return to the Grauniad.

When asked which newspaper I read I always tick the "None of the above" box.
Even the free DVDs or other giveaways don't tempt me

One or two of the referees were characters in their own right; diminutive figures like Tiny Carr and Lou Marco often added to the fun by getting themselves trapped between or under a couple of heavyweights. There was a larger guy (Stan Stone?) who had been a wrestler in his younger days and periodically dealt with a gobby villain by picking him up and body-slamming him on to the canvas - great slapstick!
