Glad it's worked for everyone!

A friend of mine gave me the tip-off that the info was on the Digital Spy website. Spookily enough, just as his email came through, I'd come across some other mention of getting ITV4 via the Add Channels route, but the instructions weren't as clear as the ones on Digital Spy.

I was delighted that the thing worked, and even more delighted to be watching 'Department S' last night from ep 1!!!

I'd seen the Add Channels facility when I first got Sky, but there seemed to be nothing of interest on the Astra satellite line-up available to the UK that wasn't already on the Sky line-up, so I never bothered with it. Nice that it's come in useful at last!

By the way, sanndevil, dunno what 'non-compliant DVD mode' is... would be interested to know!

Pam

You can get ITV4 on your Sky digibox now via the ADD CHANNELS facility.

Go to SERVICES, then down to SYSTEM SET-UP, then to ADD CHANNELS. Enter a frequency of 10.758, a polarisation of V, a symbol rate of 22.0 (use left and right arrow buttons), and a FEC of 5/6, then select FIND CHANNELS. From the list that appears, select 10072 and press the yellow button, then press SELECT to store. You can then access ITV4 via the SERVICES menu on OTHER CHANNELS. To quit the channel, press SERVICES.

Give it a go - if I can get it to work, anyone can!!!

My haven't times changed since the days when you just had to twiddle the dial back and forth, like you were trying to crack a safe's combination, and then say a little prayer before thumping the top of the teak effect telly with your fist to fine tune it !

Hiya Marky!

I have been around, but in 'lurking' mode! I got myself a bad case of repetitive strain injury (took me ages to realise what it was), so my posting fun has had the dampers put on it a lot this last year. Things are getting better, so hope to be joining in more again soon.

Nice to be missed!

Pam

I remember being incredibly excited when I was a kid when we managed to tune our telly into the midland's ITV station and getting to watch stuff like 'Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea' at a different time to Granada's showing... it looked like it was being beamed from the North Pole through a blizzard, but it was exciting stuff at the time!

Yes, I remember those days too Pam, trying desperately to get channel 'skip' off the surrounding regions. Back when ITV had a proper network, and you used to look longingly through TV Times, seeing what films or shows were showing elsewhere, all the time thinking, "I wish...." I might try again when the winds blowing in the opposite direction.

Cheers!
