In the beginning there was ITV1 then followed by 2,3,4 - surely 3 extra ways to advertise? and judging by the appaling commercial breaks, where there were never intended to be breaks, another way of cramming in more ads!
When I watch my old bought Poirots and Marples and Jeeves and Woosters, there are obvious natural breaks that the film makers have put in. It's so bloody obvious that these 'extra' channels are just an excuse for more annoying ads (that unfortunately pay for the progs in the first place!) Men and Motors channel seems to cater for the morally bankrupt, Chav type of blokes! I'm not talking about the Sweeny, et al, but the mindless adverts for sexy strippers, etc. There, I've had my rant, now I'll get back in my box!

Surely you're not having a go at the "The Sweeney" I agree with you about Men & Motors though. When they show an episode of "The Sweeney" they actually butcher the bloody thing. I have the boxset DVDs and Men & Motors leaves out entire scenes just to fit in the bloody adverts! ITV4 is just as bad. No sooner does a programme start and about 7 minutes later, the adverts are on. Yes, it is annoying but at least ITV4 are showing some of the ITC catalogue which suits me. My DVD recorder is on overtime!!
