Don't get me wrong,I think James Garner is one of the most entertaining actors and most things he is in is a joy,but it seems we have James Garner Saturday this week on two terrestrial channels. An hour and a half of the excellent The Rockford Files on BBC2,and for sake of missing five minutes, you can skip over to ITV1 for another hour of The Rockford Files, which is then followed by Garner's spoof western Support Your Local Sheriff.
I know old programmes such as The Rockford Files,Sherlock Holmes(Jeremy Brett) and Murder She Wrote etc are getting juggled between terrestrial channels, but the programme shcedulers should at least compare notes. Or is that too easy too suggest?

I remember Thorold Dickinson's The Queen of Spades (1949) being scheduled on BBC2 and CH4 in the same week in the early 1980s. I opted to watch the second showing only to see it pulled from the schedule.

I looked at the Topic thinking that this was a replacement Saturday morning Kids show a la " Holly and Whatnot's Saturday Thingy " ( which ,er, is purely watchable for Holly Willoughby )

Having said that James Garner then turns up on one of those wretched ABC Sitcoms on Freeview - he looks OLDER THAN PARKIE! Of course he is the crotchetty Gran Pa - hard to imagine him as Maverick!

Couldn't You just try acting , Old Boy...It's so much easier
