Default Dr Who: Army of Ghosts

I was expecting to enjoy his but have to admit it struck me as too played for laughs and predominantly aimed at kids. (unlike The Satan Pit). The void ship was another non-surprise, at first I was half-thinking it would be the leader of the Cybermen but when they revealed they didn't know the occupant my mind instantly sprung to the conclusion it would be a modern-day Davros. So now, how to destroy the Daleks and the Cybermen and save the Earth in 45 minutes!

It has been like that most of this series, and its ratings are dropping. They should remember that child audiences are your most thickle and least loyal.

Likewise here, DB7. The intro went well, quite dramatic - but they lost me fron the Ghostbusters gag on. Too 'knowing' and, as you say, too flippant.

Then on Confidential they were promoting TORCHWOOD - is this a 'pink' Dr. Who or what ? It seems like again they are prepared to treat their adult audience like children.

Sad.

I'm prepared to hang fire...this is part one of a two-parter, so having set the scene, let's see how it plays out....The Doctor was flippant when the threat seemed less serious, and just puzzling...I think it will get a deal darker from here on...

Bit of a Bay Window, what??
