Thanks for your reply,Steve. Did you ever watch Hugh Fearnely Whittingstall's programme where he was driving around the country in a converted Land Rover, cum kitchen, living off squirrels, berries, dead rabbits (found a dead rabbit, sniffed it,thought it okay and cooked it) etc. He went fishing from a cliff in Cornwall, using sprats as bait - ended up having the sprats for breakfast.
Another good one from River Cottage was when he spit roasted a pig for a Mediaval fare - yummy. Ta Ta Marky B:) |

I also like the BBC's "Full on Food" series for similar reasons. No celebrity chefs acting all precious, having temper tantrums and swearing a lot. Just people who are interested in good, if unusual, food made from good ingredients, cooked simply but with a lot of caring. They had Richard Corrigan & Heston Blumenthal as their chefs cooking things up on the show. They also had presenters who were prepared to do things like follow a lamb from the field to the table so that they could see how it was treated at every step of the way. Steve |
