I had the same thoughts as DB7 when I read the post.
As I seem to spend my days either in front of a computer (at work) or behind a steering wheel (spare time/increasingly due to work), I'm getting less and less chance to look at a TV screen nowadays. I do however, when I get sick of Radio 2 (rather a lot lately), almost always have assorted radio episodes of Hancock, Steptoe & Son and Dad's Army blaring away in the background.
It's not so long since I listened to the BBC radio adaptation of the
Dad's Army episode 'Sons of The Sea'. It brought back very vivid memories of the TV version (the drunken singers were French-Canadians in the radio adaptation) and reminded me just how good radio shows can be.
Sorry, this clearly isn't of any help in the least, it's just that that 'Sons of The Sea' is one of my
Dad's Army favourites.
