Yes...I remember it too.

His name was Len Tanner...there was also a book that you used to follow along the story.
Don't remember if I loved the prog. that much, but it was fun watching TV at school...on a great big black & white TV set, which would be rolled out.
Must have been about '69-70.
I remember this from 1969-70 watching it at school in the only tv in school, black and white, which was located in the staffroom
Set around the docks of London.Sadly it looks like there are no copies of this series left.I was age nine at the time, it still sticks out in my mind, i can still see the opening credits.
I don't remember that one, but one which may be in a similar vein was 'Sam and the River', which had a very haunting (whistled) theme tune which is still stuck in my head.
