Can anyone tell me when the FIRST series of the Irish RM was aired on British television, please. I know the dates of the 2nd and 3rd series but only that the 1st started sometime in 1983. There were 6 episodes and I want to know when the first episode went out not necessarily all 6. And ,yes, I have checked at IMDB, BFI, itnsource etc who don't seem to have the info

    Thanks

Some sites (or their databases) show a date as 1st Jan if they only know the year. Wouldn't New Year's Day television be filled more with holiday specials and looks back at the year just passed?

Yes, I did pick up on that 1982 airing at tv.com, Stanley, but it doesn't really help me, unfortunately. It's either wrong or the programme was released in the States a year before it was aired on Channel 4 here (I suppose this is possible as it was at least partly an Irish production). Mind you, tv.com isn't much use for US release dates as most are missing as well. All real and anecdotal evidence I can find confirms that it was released here in 1983, I just can't find WHEN in 1983. I want to correct the release dates at IMDB where some clown has put release "dates" for the 3 series as 1983, 1984 and 1985 with no accompanying release date days and months. I don't know if you're active at IMDB but Steve is and he will know how irritating this is.

It is, because if you just give a year they make it as if it was 1st Jan in that year. Then when you try to add the correct date in that year, the system thinks you're trying to add a later release date, not a more correct one.
