yes i really enjoyed it a good programme to see where famous people began and where their roots began. Im sure a lot of us would be shocked to see our roots, its very expensive to do mind you i have been following my family tree for about 4 years know and it really costs a fortune to get print outs and information.

I believe the genealogical consultants involved would charge you £25 an hour plus VAT or £180 a day, plus travelling expenses.

Since it was Graham Norton I made a point of missing it.

I catch the program sometimes when it is about somebody I'm interested in, or is talented, or doesn't make my skin crawl.

As Stephen Fry said when his roots were traced: "If you go back far enough we all come from peasants."

What i find rather sick making is the way that these celebs turn on the tears at least once.It seems like that want to be shown as sincere rather than getting paid thousands of pounds for their ancestors history.

Hmmm....From what I saw, Stephen Fry and Natasha Kaplinski had a reason for their tears....................

I've missed some of this series (Mock the Week on Beeb2) but I enjoy history and genealogy. I'm pulling my hair out doing mine ;-) (that was joke)

Some of the celebs I don't particularly like but I have enjoyed their WDYTYA. Julian Clary was one. Has everyone been a tv celeb ? Have there been no other famous people ?

Graham Norton does not appeal to me and was going to give this one a miss, but did record it.Glad I didn't miss it though because like a lot of the others from the series it was a suprising insight into our shared history that was genuinely interesting above Graham Norton himself.

Again the past brought to life by looking at real people in historic circumstances.Unexpectedly good stuff I thought and an excellent series on the whole.

It's Matthew Pinsent, the olympic rower, next week. He's done some TV presenting but I think he's still better known as an athlete. According to the Radio Times he has an interesting family tree.

It amazes me how disappionted they seem to be when they find out who their ancestors were

Norton really wanted his ancestors to be Scottish but was surprised to find they came from

yorkshire, an irishman with a flat cap and a kilt comes to mind .!!

I have been pleasantly surprised and disappointed in some of the people on this programme. Kaplinsky and Norton both showed themselves to be quite reasonable and real human beings whereas I thought John Hurt was a real pain the 'arris and Carol Vorderman was exactly what I expected her to be.

I don't watch any TV programme which allows "celebs" to be even more self-indulgent and tiresome than they already are. This ranks alongside "Through the Keyhole" (working title "Look How Much Money I've Made!") and "Celebrity Let Me Make a Patronising Wildlife Documentary About Cuddly Endangered Species So That I Can Educate the Morons Out There Who Only Watch This Type of Programme if There's a Celebrity Presenting It!"

The more you see people like soapsters diversifying into other areas of television the more you think "Why don't they just concentrate on practicing their acting, then eventually they might get quite good at it!"
