Did anyone else see this I was rather surprised by Mondays episode of Doc Martin in the middle of the program it showed the docs aunt Stefanie Cole being rogered on the kitchen table by a young painter, ok you did not really see anything but I thought this was a family program.

It was after the 'water-shed' - I don't suppose it can really be classified as a 'family' programme. I like it anyway.

Too much blood for a "family programme"

    It's a good show though

Is this the long awaited third series?

It hasn't reached our shores yet but I'm very much looking forward to it.

I wonder whether the Doc will finally get it on with Louisa this time?

Well, I saw Martin Clunes being interviewed the other day and he hinted that they get 'closer', but I got the impression that they don't have any intentions of it ever running smoothly as a relationship.

I love the story-line about the agoraphobic village copper - I'm an agoraphobic myself and it really does have its funny moments!

As well as an agoraphobic, he's also a narcoleptic!

    Pretty good for a copper

Port Isaac, Cornwall - for the most part. That is where they film the main shots of "Portwenn"

Is this the same village that they shot the Brenda Blethyn film Saving Grace in? Looks like it but not sure.

Yes, and of course the series Doc Martin is a spin-off from that film. Martin Clunes played Dr. Martin Bamford in Saving Grace

    I think you're wrong - I bet he's Portwenn's answer to Clouseau!

I like Martin Clunes but I find this series incredible as in, not credible. The stories are just plain silly like when he connected a dishwasher to to the sewerage pipe the other week and the receptionist served tea in sh*t soiled mugs and infected every one of the patients!

It's supposed to be "comedy drama" but then so is New Tricks, the difference being that every episode of New Tricks is well researched and well written, and it doesn't have to rely on unbelievable silliness for its humour!

This is often the case with ITV programmes like Doc Martin, so they must think that their audience are just thickos who won't notice when the writer is being lazy or can't even be bothered researching things properly.

Call me Mr Picky, but this "modern" attitude of "it'll do, no-one will care" spoils what could potentially be a good series!

I find Doc Martin an odd one, a bit like bland wallpaper it's there and I can't gather up the enthusiasm to love or love it.

I have not seen Doc Martin, if I had known Caroline Catz was in it I'd have given it a look! (see Sexiest Actresses)
