BBC world affairs editor John Simpson has said that he expects to be sacked in "horrible circumstances".

Absolutely correct. The BBC has to evolve. For example; the licence fee funding system needs to be scrapped and replaced by a subscription service. Also, why does the BBC feel the need to have 4 national TV channels, 7 national radio channels, other specialised channels, numerous orchestra's, choirs, a 24 hour a day "rolling" news service, vast levels of management and the wanton desire to reward their presenters with gargantuan salaries?
