With Jonathan Ross's position untenable, what would fellow BBC licence payers spend £6m (his annual salary) on?
One of my ideas would include bringing back the Christmas Ghost Story drama

A new series based on the 'Hazell' books with Craig Fairbrass as Jim-Jim. Or ..... a series based on the 'Inspector Martineau' novels with Lewis Collins as Martineau.
I would set up a whole new BBC radio station (BBC 8 ) devoted to popular vocal and light music of the pre-1960s era...... everything played would be recorded before 1960 ....
Of course, you could remake "The Wicker Man". No, on second thoughts, wasting good money on a third version of a load of rubbish would be criminal![]()

That would be a waste of money because, as the remake showed, you can't improve on perfection!![]()
After reading Wicked Lady's thread on Dead Fish I decided to have a look, I've only watched about 20 mins of it so far but...
Gary Oldman is looking & even sounds EXACTLY like Alfred Burke. I reckon we should petition the Beeb & get a remake of Public Eye with him as Marker
Now that would be money well spent!![]()
An idea for a programme that I have just posted on the Film 2009 thread. A Film 19?? for each year since the talkies in the style of the present programme. Find someone as keen on film as Fred Dibnah was on steam to front it plus Steve Cook and a couple of other researchers. We should have change from the £6m plus overseas sales and the boxed sets.

I'll do all the research for Jenny!
Actually, my thought had been they could use the money to buy back [assuming they aren't telling porkies] the rights to The Snow Goose - they could almost make their money back on requests for it on here![]()
name='batman']Who's Steve Cook?
That guy with the bows and arrows thingy on the side.![]()
Take over the BFI and release the classics that everone wants and I believe has a right to see in their homes. They'd make millions in return.

You mean Steve Crook ..... is he an expert on steam?![]()
The £6M should be invested in the type of quality programming the BBC used to provide.
Use the money to showcase new talent.............writers, directors etc.![]()

With the temporary suspension of Ross, the BBC have saved £1.5M of licence payers' money.![]()
