The answer to my earlier question as to who kicked the ball off the line in the introduction to The Big Match, when Brian Moore shouts his catchphrase "Hooked off the line", it was Mike Keen of QPR.

I've got a copy of Match of the Day 1960's to 1980's on dvdr if anyone would like to trade.

I used to record all the goals when they were shown on Saturday lunchtime so i have hors of goals scored by players with dodgy mulletts and interrupted by brief shots of saint and greavsie ,des lynham and bob wilson.

I do .... he died quite young. You could watch Football Preview at 12.30 and then switch channels to watch On The Ball at 1.00.

Football Preview began in the 60s and ran till the early 70s becoming Football Focus when Bob Wilson took over. Brian Moore joined ITV in 1968 and started doing The Big Match and On The Ball in 1969. On The Ball ran until 1992 when it became Saint and Greavsie.

Used to watch On The Ball. Brian Moore always used to introduce it from the ground he was commentating on that day but they weren't allowed to say where. The fun was guessing although to a keen ground hopper it was always easy to tell.

Remember the tight little shorts they wore in those days, its a wonder they didn't suffer more "groin" strains than any other injury in those days
