plane crash

this is an old film. black and while i think. i saw this many many years ago but would love to know the name.

a plane crashes into a desert. there are survivors, they get on with surviving as survivors do. eventually rescuers come for them, only they cant see the survivors.

they start taking the bodies of the dead people away and as they do the survivors start to dissapear. they realise that they didnt survive after all.



Any ideas? this has been driving me mad for years.

Sounds a bit like a Twillight Zone but that was a military plane.

Definitely Sole Survivor. The party of searchers gradually uncover the skeletons one at a time but they miss one and the last "ghost" is left by himself. The film ends with searcher Vince Edwards (of Dr Ben Casey fame) returning one more time to look for the skeleton that they missed. An excellent made for TV film which deserves showing again.

I remember a film like this, it was definitely not twilight zone, but a full length film.

The film I remember revolves around a USAAF aircrew who crash in the desert during WW2, and cannot walk further than a certain distance from their aircraft (B24,B17 or B29 etc). as wartime crew, they do not know of helicopters, and are amazed to see a helicopter land at their crash site, with one of them remarking that the propellor is on the top of the plane.

They cannot walk any distance from the crash as they are dead but did not realise this at first.

I got a copy of ebay and it was fine. I think this has to be the most 'does anyone know the name?' queried film of all.
