Hi I'm new to this and I wondered if anyone can help me with this. For the past few months I have been trying to recollect the name of a film I first watched in the early 80's although it was probably made in the late 60's/70's. I don't remember much and I'm beginning to think I dreamt it. The film was set in a public school I think and the only scene I clearly remember was a Pe lesson where the boys were playing basketball and a freeforall broke out resulting in a pupil having an eye gouged out. This is all I can remember apart from thoroughly enjoying the film itself. I thought it was 'if' by Lyndsey but having recently watched it I was left asking myself 'where was the bit where he lost his eye?'. Have I just imagined this film or does it ring a bell with anyone. Kind regards Steve

    Thank you, Will

Courtesy of that YouTube link, I've just watched Unman, Wittering and Zigo and it's not the one described (no basketballs or eye-gouging), but I was glad to see the film again, 25 years years after my original viewing on Channel 4. The only other picture I can think of from that period is Sidney Lumet's Child's Play (1972), starring James Mason. Like Unman, Wittering and Zigo, this also centred around a schoolteacher tormented by pupils.

EDIT - In fact, I am now certain that it's Child's Play. The Wikipedia page for the film mentions a PE teacher and an IMDb reviewer says about two of the students "one is blinded, another is tied up and hung from a statue".

2nd EDIT - This must be the scene described by the original poster:

Can anybody find a link to the film please. I've been trying unsuccessfully for ages and all I get is 'Chucky' which to be honest is not my cup of tea so to speak. Many thanks, Steve.

Google Child's Play 1972 and you won't get Chuckie.

Couldn't find a link to watch the film but inadvertently I found links by the same director for 'The Hill' and 'The Offence' which are two very good films that I enjoyed watching years ago so I'll watch them until a Child's Play link is discovered
