Could you be thinking of The Bed Sitting Room?
I'm sorry to have such a vague memory of the plot of this early 1950s (I guess) film but it seemed to have elements of thriller/comedy/love. One of the characters was sleeping in a large brass bed outside in a field or large garden as part of a medical research project. There was also an RAF officer involved in some kind of research but perhaps to do with weaponry; he had scenes inside what may have been a modernist cold war control tower room (lots of light and perhaps views out onto large hangers).
Sorry to be so short on facts but perhaps the brass bed in the field is the most vivid memory jogger.
Thank you for any help in recalling this movie.
