Shoot me down in flames... but there is Ian and am-dram in The Colditz Story. Not sure him having getting a horn, however.
This is a bit embarrassing as you probably got it from the title. I may well be talking about a British classic, and should know better, in which case, sorry ....
An amateur actor (Ian Carmichael type?) is on stage dressed as a viking. He has to drink from a horn which he is informed contains cold tea, not real alcohol. He laughs as he imagines what would happen if he blew the horn when it was full of cold tea. The director does not laugh.
It's going to turn out to be Kind Hearts or The Happiest Days of your Life or something...

No. it wasn't as serious as Colditz. This was an Ian Carmichael type (it may or may not have been him) in a sort of church hall amdram thing with the vicar directing ... you know the kind of thing. 73 views and no answers? Maybe it's not a classic, then - but someone must have seen it? It's starting to worry me now.
