There is Time Flies (1944) with Tommy Handley, but I'm not sure that is the one.

Hi.
Can anyone help me with this old BW comedy about a group of time travellers. They're accidentally thrown back to Tudor or Jacobean times (the old pre-fire St. Paul's Cathedral is their first clue what's happened to them).
At the very end of the film, they manage to return to the present but their actions in the past have changed their history, and so they all turn invisible because they're not really there any more. (Was this just a silly punch line, or the lead in to a sequel about the invisible characters trying to put history back on track so they can exist once more?)
The star was an annoying Arthur Askey-type. Maybe not Arthur himself, but someone just as irritating.
Any suggestions?

Time Flies I think.
Euryale beat me to it a little bit. I don't know if she has seen it and is dubious about the ending, but I found that title a long time ago because someone else was looking for a similar movie and there probably is no other possibilitiy.

Wow! Thanks Euryale and Will. That was quick work! Now to see if I can find a copy to check it out...
The DVD is available at Amazon, but a bit pricey. There are probably outlets where it can be picked up a little cheaper.
The time-travellers go back to the reign of Good Queen Bess, but I'm not sure how it ends - I'm looking for a complete synopsis.

I found a DVD a lot cheaper. I don't know anything about the seller. I didn't see a copy for sale first time I came actoss it. There are no other black and white British comedies with that plot.

The link doesn't work, maybe the seller is out of business.
