Looking for a low budget movie...

I'm looking for a movie, (not British), about a lad who killed his Mother while in bed, (I think she was in bed at the time), with a rock, at the start of the movie.

Some time in the movie, he is transported from the place he is living, (as a mental patient or something like that), to somewhere in a van, which he manages to steal. In one part of the movie, there are some woods at the side of a road, the van is abandoned and the lad made his way through the woods, leaving some torn clothing behind, near the van. I think he finds his way to this house and stays in the barn.

If I recall correctly, he managed to steal the van while the driver got out at a garage, probably to buy cigarettes or something.

This isn't an old movie and was probably made during the past 11 years, or possibly, very late 90's and was a budget movie. At the start of the movie, he was a young boy when he hit his Mother over the head with the rock. He was older during the rest of the movie.

Sounds like Rob Zombie's Halloween remake.

No, it's not from any well known director. It's a cheapo budget movie, so no famous dudes involved.
