Another B/W British film I saw in the late 60's on BBC 1 late on a Saturday night, a ghost story this time and all I recall is a young woman running from the house towards the edge of a cliff over the sea, in her nightie and I think she was saved before she reached the edge. I think it was set in Ireland out on the west coast tho' I'm not certain about that. The house was haunted.
It seems to me that it may well have been a 50's film, it had that look about it. Hope someone can help.

I just watched The Uninvited again at the weekend, and it certainly seems to tie in with your memories as CaptainWaggett suggests, although it's a Paramount film made in Hollywood, albeit set in England.

That sounds like "The Horse of the Invisible" from THE RIVALS OF SHERLOCK HOLMES television series (tx: 18.10.1971) starring Donald Pleasence.

I don't think so. I'm pretty sure it was just one of the old movies typical of Saturday nights on telly back in the 60s. Like Dragonwyck or Rebecca.

Sounds like The Uninvited to me too.Still one of the spookiest films I've seen even if the special effects are out of the ark.
