80's TV Drama

A friend at work has been trying for some time to find the name of a TV drama from the early 80s.

She can't remember very much other than it was about a group of young people (late teens, early twenties) and it followed them through a day which culminated in them going to a gig. There may have been drinking and drug taking prior to the gig. The reason why she remembers it is that the gig was by Fashion, the Birmingham new romantic band. She was a big fan and wants to see this again.


Fashion were at their peak around '81 so it was probably made around then. I got the impression that it might have been a bit like Going Out but she thinks that this was a single drama rather than a series.

Any ideas?
