Sounds like the Granada plus repeats of 'Journey into the Unknown'.
Difficult to decide where to place this question as it's to do with a TV series.
I can only remember the opening credits of this 1970's/1980's US Horror series, they featured a Ferris -wheel revolving towards the viewer and were in a lurid red colour, the series may have been an early attempt at 3D because the Ferris wheel seemed to come out of the screen ?. I believe the show was an ITC production aimed at America. It was very similar to "The Twilight Zone" and featured a different story every week. I watched it on late night ITV in the early 90's, when ITV through the night was worth watching !
In an effort to answer this question, I googled every combination I could think of and also checked you-tube but to no avail. The answer is stashed firmly in the back of mind but simply won't come out for me, Help!![]()
Sounds like the Granada plus repeats of 'Journey into the Unknown'.
Thank- you very much, for putting my mind at ease. It seems that this was actually a Hammer production, so it will be something else to look for on DVD. By way of confirmation, here is a you-tube link
Not too sure about the lurid red colour that I remembered, maybe my VHS machine had an off day?

You're welcome Paul! I remembered the intro having a red bias too so maybe the Youtube video is misleading?
One of my favourite anthology shows.
Still no sign of it on dvd.
I remember this from the fantastic theme tune, brought back some memories there
It's ok but I'm not overly keen on the american feel that all the Hammer series have-I don't know what it is,maybe it's the film used? but there's a sort of 'orangeness' to them and I half expect canned laughter!![]()
I could only remember the theme tune and titles, ,aybe that tells you something about the overall quality of the series. I noticed that there were some ahem, "Public domain" dvd's on I offer last night, around about the £12 mark for the whole series, maybe after Christmas ?.
Journey to the Unknown. This series was indeed a Hammer production, it was made for 20th Century Fox TV in order to crash into the lucrative US TV market (probably envious of ITC's success in this department) and was shown in the US on ABC (who liked UK shows). It wasn't their first attempt. In 1958 they made a pilot Tales of Frankenstein for Columbia's TV department. It wasn't picked up, but I believe it was released in the US on VHS.
Did you know two episodes were amalgamated into one TV feature, with Patrick McGoohan no less doing the link spots (even though he had no involvement in the series!)
