folks,
First go at this site, sorry if it doesn't entirely fall into your parameters, but its been bugging me all Christmas.
Its set in USA in the 1950's, and is quite 'wonder years', looking back reminiscing.
The main character is a boy and his family, he is wanting an airgun for Christmas and is pestering his family for it.
The main things I remember are at the end there's a ricochet from the gun he gets which hits out main character in the face (The usual phrase , careful or it'll have you're eye out gets used a lot)- which I believe requires hospital treatment, causing the turkey to be burned, so the last scene is Christmas dinner is a Chinese restaurant with the family and staff singing Christmas carols and all live happily ever after.
another scene about halfway through was as a dare in the school playground either the main character or a friend sticks his tongue on a freezing lamppost, and none of the other kids let the teachers know so he's stuck there.
The film was shown on BBC2 first time, in about 1992-1995, also about Christmas time at my grandfathers, who is now gone, so that's why I must have started thinking about it.
Thanks in advance
