There wasn't the last time I was there - but it was a long time ago.

I am trying to find the name of this film for my friend. He says Alec Guiness was the star and that it may have been an Ealing comedy. The story is about a terminally ill man (with Lampingtons?). Good things then start to happen such as a good set of clothes in a second-hand shop, followed by a holiday in a hotel where he meets Trevor Lampington whom the disease was named after but he is not actually suffering from the disease.
