Unanswered: appointment with fear

tyne tees television in the 1970s used to have a friday night film ,always under the heading "appointment with fear " [ more hiding behind the sofa ] anyway one week it was a film which started with a man being chased [ him on foot the baddies in a car ] him being run over quite violently and a voodoo doll / replica of him being placed at the scene ,any ideas ?
